Chaudhary Charan Singh University (CCS University; Hindi: चौधरी चरण सिंह विश्वविद्यालय), formerly Meerut University, is a public university located in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, India. The university was established in 1965. It was later renamed to its current name after Chaudhary Charan Singh, former Prime minister of India. The university celebrated its silver jubilee in 1991.The campus is outside the city on an area of over 219 acres (0.89 km2) of land with playgrounds and experimental fields, botanical garden, rose garden with statue of the late Prime Minister Ch.Charan Singh, gymnasium, indoor stadium, library, administrative block, auditorium, guest house, community centre and medical centre.
